What if 2012 was real?

There has been a great buzz about the end of the world which happens to be on December the 21st of 2012 to be precise 11.11 am GMT. There you have it, exact time, date & year on when we will all perish. Yeah, right. So you believe that we are all alive today to die tomorrow? are we? A great master once said “Live life so fully that when death comes you are ready to embrace it, then death disappears”.

Now my take on 2012, this is just my opinion, you do not have to agree. In his book, ‘God without religion’, Sankara Saranam describes the cycle theory which talks about various cycles in the human evolution, each cycle affected by the distance from the truth (spiritual truth), according to his studies Golden age depicted the highly enlightened period and the Iron age being the pinnacle of ignorance. The ignorance of spiritual knowledge as we go farther from the golden age and lowest point is when we are farthest which happens to fall during the period 500 CE, considered Dark Age in the history. According to his study of cycle theory, we have already started our journey towards the spiritual knowledge and the result of this is all the inventions we made to transcend time & space in the past 100 years(advancement in travel & communication). As per this theory, the ‘doomsday’ might just be the point where humanities conscious turns its course towards the direction of golden age, attainment of spiritual knowledge, completely. So ‘doomsday’ as we know it is ‘death of ignorance in us’ and dawn of a new consciousness and NOT the end of human race or to that matter ‘end of the world’.

After doing tonnes of research and coming across this cycle theory, I thought this was the closest and truthful explanation that one can think of. What kind of a spirit it would be that wants to destroy its own creation? Even if it does, there must be a greater reason which our egoistic fear driven minds could ever comprehend. If that is the case, are we not better off to just ‘let go and let spirit’?

Living a robotic life as if we are waiting for the death to take over the pain in our lives, all we are doing is to realize the truth in death, if that is the case, isn’t it better then to have this day come earlier than later? Just a thought to ponder.

Having saved you from the unnecessary fear after giving you my take on 2012, lets get into purpose of this article. I want you to assume for a minute that 2012 is really happening. Instead of being overwhelmed with fear (I have gone through that state myself), think of it as an opportunity to give more love, to share, to live in the moment, to be more open to people, to do the things that we have always postponed in the false belief that we will live eternally (our spirit does of course). It is a wonderful opportunity for us to kill the procrastination in us and do the things that we have been putting off for long. Say the things from your heart, let your voice be heard (now you see where this website comes from?) to sing, to dance and to become alive, once again.

All things will take a new form. Things that were not important suddenly will become important, like being with family, spending time with loved ones, sharing moments with friends and doing things that we put off.

When we know that we have limited time left (which is ALWAYS the case) in this physical body, things take on a new meaning. For example, if you have lived your entire life in a desert and then you are taken to a wonderful beach at Florida, how would you feel? First day would be just ecstatic feeling that no words can describe, second would be equally blissful and few months at the beach – you will start to feel the joy missing. You no longer have the same feeling you had the first day. But then you are told that you will be there only for a week, once again this beach takes a new place in your conscious. Nothing external has changed but now you will develop the connection that you had the first day at this wonderful place because now you know you have to move, NEVER TO RETURN in this same form/place. You will try to live those 7 days to the fullest, you will live more in those seven days than you would have if you did not know that you have to leave.

This is true with our lives, take a look at things that we procrastinate all the time? Are we not taking life for granted? We plan for tomorrow as if we are here in these physical bodies for ever. Look at the world as it is today, think for a minute, what if you would be gone from the place you are, never to return, would you have the same feeling of boredom? Will you continue to see the things with the same eyes? Nothing external has changed though!

Plan for a better tomorrow but never procrastinate life to live tomorrow. Do what you can today and tomorrow will take care of itself.

It does not matter if you are religious or not, whether you believe it or not, we are but the creation of same spirit and if a doomsday should come that would just be a transformation of one form to another, physical to ’spirit’ual. Don’t sweat it.

If you happen to read this beyond 2012, congratulations, you are now part of a race that has started its journey towards enlightenment, you cannot help it but be part of the ecstacy it offers.
